The "archipelago" of the Baltic Sea

The Blekinge archipelago is one of the best pike waters in Europe! But perch and cod can also be caught here. The landscape, which is still shaped by the Ice Age, leaves an overwhelming impression.

Directly connected to the Baltic Sea, this body of water with thousands of islands offers pike fishing in a class of its own! You simply have to experience it: the bait lands on the edge of the reed and you slowly begin to reel it in. In the shallow, often only 1 meter deep, crystal clear water, you suddenly see a stately pike chasing the bait. A quick jerk of the rod and the pike bites! Followed by a hard fight - the archipelago has incredible strength. After landing, a quick photo and the pike can go back into its element.

An angler never forgets such experiences! And here such moments are part of the order of the day.

But even a holiday without a fishing rod is simply fantastic here! The view over the sea, a sailing boat passing by, long walks along the coast or a swim at one of the countless free small beaches on the Baltic Sea will make you look back on your vacation for a long time.

The most famous town in the Blekinge archipelago is Karlskrona. Many fishing competitions are held here. Teams have already fished in well-known competitions such as Fly vs. Jerk etc. in our beloved archipelago. There is also incredible street fishing for perch in Karlskrona in autumn. A great change of pace in a vibrant young seaside town.

Lake Tiken

The Tiken is considered a very interesting body of water in southern Sweden/Småland for predator anglers. The lake is about 6 km² in size. There are many small islands distributed throughout the lake. The predatory stocks of zander, pike and perch are great. Due to the very high stocks of white fish and the very good water quality, the predators grow to a considerable size.

Several pairs of ospreys make their home here. With a bit of luck, the angler can watch in the summer how the parents teach the young to hunt the fish. In addition, wild mink still live on the Tiken and with a bit of luck you might see the king of the forest - the moose - standing on the shore or swimming through the lake.

The small river Brakneån flows through the lake, which flows directly into the Baltic Sea. The most common and very successful method of fishing for pike and zander on the Tiken is trolling by boat. Here artificial lures such as wobblers, rubber fish or spoons are pulled very slowly over the countless, promising positions of the robbers.

In the deeper river bed of the Brakneån, the zander are at home. Here it is advisable to offer the bait a little deeper. Classic jigging is one of the most successful methods here. But dead bait fish on the predatory fish float or offered with a float on the bottom often lead to success. Pike up to 1,30 m and zander up to more than 1 m have already been caught in the tiken and the lake is therefore rightly one of the XXL waters in southern Sweden - mainly because there is no intensive fishing by professional fishermen or the like here. Cosy, comfortable holiday homes offer a good starting point for countless successful fishing trips. With us you will also find suitable accommodation with boat and motor on the Tiken. Peter Heil.

Lake Åsnen

The Åsnen is THE predatory fish water in Småland/southern Sweden. The lake was created in the Ice Age, has a water surface of about 140 km², plus 19 km² of islands. Most of the islands are bird sanctuaries and nature reserves. He lake is the second largest lake in Småland and is known to most anglers for its pike and zander stocks. The Mörrumsån - one of the world's most famous salmon rivers - flows in the southwest from the Åsnen into the Baltic Sea. The geographic location corresponds to the Tingsryd-Urshult-Växjö-Alvesta axis. The estuary in the Baltic Sea extends to the cities of Mörrum, Ronneby, Karlshamn, where Sweden's southernmost archipelago begins. The Åsnen offers pure nature - quiet bays, reed edges, rich bottom structure and the countless small and larger islands are a paradise for the predator angler. Pike, zander, perch, all types of whitefish and even whitefish are at home in Åsnen. Due to the endless white fish stocks, the predatory fish grow to a considerable size. Pike up to 1,40 m and zander over 1,10 m have been caught here. Meter pike are really nothing unusual here.

More than 50 pairs of ospreys and white-tailed eagles live at Åsnen. The nature and wildlife are still almost untouched here and Småland is also known as the last wilderness in Central and Northern Europe. The moose - the king of the forest - is also at home here and with a little luck you can see a moose or even a moose family.

You should definitely have a boat for fishing - trolling is a successful fishing method due to the large water surface. Wobblers or spoons are then used in water depths of up to 3,5 m. Depending on the season, the shallow bays can be searched for the big predators by spinning with all common artificial lures. In midsummer, most of them are in the slightly deeper holes in the lake and can often be outwitted there with bait fish or by throwing rubber fish on the jig head. The ideal starting point for these fishing trips is the island of Sirkon (the largest island in the lake) and the bays around Sirkon. In the shallower areas, especially around the islands, the fish find good conditions for growth and reproduction. Another water feature is the calcareous soil, which ensures a neutral pH value and thus contributes to Åsnen's biodiversity.

Smaland Sportfiske Mien waters perch fishing Sweden Mien Pike

Lake Mien

The Mien is a crater lake, which was formed about 121 million years ago by a meteorite impact. So this body of water was something very special right from the start. Due to the history of its formation, the lake has an almost round shape with a diameter of about 5,5 km. But anyone who now suspects a monotonous underwater structure, similar to a bathtub, is wrong. Due to the shifting of the plates during the Ice Age, a breathtaking and varied underwater landscape was created here. There are islands, plateaus, stone fields and even a large shallow water area in the lake. This selection of attractive structures makes fishing on this lake truly special.
The fish population in the Mien is terrific. Pike and perch are the dominant predatory fish here. There are true giants of both types in the Mien. The perch often move through the lake in schools. If you encounter such a swarm, you can experience true magic moments and unforgettable moments. The average size of the minnows is also really remarkable. Especially in the open water there are often some perch over 40cm in length. There are even some reports of real giant perch around 50cm. As if all of this wasn't enough, the perch in this body of water have a very unusual coloring. The perch of the Mien can sometimes be almost black in color. They almost seem like a different species. This is due to the special water color of the lake. The water is actually very clear, but has a slightly rusty cloudiness.
The pike is also impressively dark in colour. This predatory fish can also grow to very impressive sizes on the Mien. Pike more than a meter long are caught here very regularly. Sometimes even over 1,20m in length. The basis of food for the predatory fish is the small vendace, which is also called “sik” in Swedish. The large occurrence of this species of whitefish allows for the extraordinary population of predatory fish. Since even large pike eat the small vendace, by-catch of large pike is always to be expected when fishing perch. In addition to pike and perch, there are also some lake trout in the Mien.
The lake has no public trailer spot, which minimizes fishing pressure on this body of water. One can therefore speak of a real privilege to be able to fish in this body of water. We are therefore very happy to be able to offer you this opportunity. It is often the case that you are completely alone on this large lake. An indescribable feeling of freedom! The great stock of predators is one reason why the Mien has been featured in well-known competitions such as the Fly vs. Jerk and Perch Pro.
Whilst the Mien is conveniently close to the town of Tingsryd, there is little traffic on the lake itself. So you can also enjoy the tranquility that the lake radiates on the shore. Even non-anglers are fascinated by the beauty of this body of water. Due to the excellent water quality and the sandy subsoil in many places, the water also invites you to swim. Furthermore, one can watch the most beautiful sunsets in the whole region at Mien. Not far from our holiday homes on the Mien is the moose park "Älgriket", where the otherwise shy wild animals can be observed.
Mien has many truly unique features that make it a fascinating and beautiful holiday destination. Convince yourself!
